Pacific Gate Works, a wood gate builder located in
western Oregon, began when two craftsmen, a metalworker and
a woodworker, found a unique way to combine their passions.
Our wooden gate designs exhibit time-tested construction techniques
that utilize the natural beauty of Red Western Cedar and the
strength of iron, making our products one of a kind. Simplicity
and functionality in our garden gates render a timeless beauty
for future generations to enjoy. GATES

A well built and designed wood gate will set a property

visitors. We realize that home ownership is still an American

Dimensions of existing designs can be easily altered to
accommodate your particular situation, at affordable prices.
We also offer standard sizes, some of which we carry in
stock. Additionally, we are equipped to tailor a custom
gate to your exact needs; our craftspeople welcome the opportunity
to create a custom fence gate or driveway entrance gate
from the ‘ground up.’ Dimensioned computer drawings
are provided to ensure your confidence for a lifetime of
purposeful use and enjoyment.
OUR WOOD OF CHOICE -- Clear Western Red Cedar
Wood selection for a custom wood gate is the most crucial
aspect. Each board is carefully examined for structural
quality and to ensure unity, symmetry and consistency throughout.
Through this process, each garden and wood driveway gate
acquires its own unique character and is truly one of a
kind. Our wood of choice is clear Red Western Cedar. When
required for structural stability and to prevent sagging,
we use a steel support frame which is powder coated for
maximum corrosion resistance and easy long term care.
STRUCTURAL DESIGN and SUPERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP
The wood frames of our gates are constructed using mortise
and tenon joinery, the strongest wood-to-wood connection.
Slat panels are tongue and groove construction and "float"
within the rail and stile framework. Both of these features
allow for the natural, seasonal expansion and contraction
of the wood.
CUSTOM IRON WORK FOR ADDED STRENGTH AND BEAUTY
All iron art options are built from high quality raw materials.
All joints are welded and ground in our metal shop. We have
a large supply base for varying shapes and sizes of iron
work to meet your custom needs. Do not hesitate to let us
