Pacific Gate Works is
located in western Oregon and began when two craftsmen, a metalworker
and a woodworker, were searching for a unique way to combine their passions.
Our designs exhibit the time-tested
techniques that yield the natural beauty of Red Western Cedar and the
strength of iron, which makes our products one of a kind. Simplicity
and functionality in our garden gates render a timeless beauty for future
generations to enjoy.

Custom wood gates

at affordable prices, or even customize wood gates, garden, or a driveway
gate from the "ground up." Dimensioned
computer drawings are provided to ensure your confidence
for a lifetime of purposeful use and enjoyment.
WOOD SELECTION - Clear Western
Red Cedar
Wood selection for our wood gates is probably the most crucial
aspect. Each board is carefully examined for structural quality and
so that there will be unity, symmetry and consistency throughout.
Through this process each gate acquires its own unique character and
personality and is truly one of a kind. Our wood of choice is clear
Red Western Cedar. When required for structural stability and prevent
sagging, we will use a steel support frame which is powder coated for
maximum corrosion resistance and easy long term care.
STRUCTURAL DESIGN and SUPERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP
Mortise and tenon joinery
is used for the wood gate frame. It is the strongest wood-to-wood connection
and allows for expansion and contraction. Gate panels are tongue and
groove construction and "float" within the rail and stile
framework, which also allows for the expansion and contraction of wood
throughout the varying seasons.
CUSTOM IRON WORK FOR ADDED STRENGTH AND BEAUTY
The iron art
is built from high quality raw materials. All joints are welded and
ground in our metalshop. We have a large supply base for varying shapes
and sizes of iron work to meet your custom needs. Do not hesitate to
